Services

Swindon Jewish Community is affiliated to the Movement for Reform Judaism and services are run by members of the community using the MRJ prayer book.  We do not have a rabbi but do receive occasional visits from visiting and student rabbis.

Services are run in a variety of venues including members’ homes,  with a regular Saturday morning service held in a local community hall. Visits are also arranged to services held by neighbouring communities.

For the High Holy Days, we join the Maidenhead community service led by Rabbi Jonathan Romain MBE.

Shabbat 8th February – We will be joining Oxford Synagogue for their Shabbat service which starts at 10.30am.

Friday 21st February – Erev Shabbat Service to be held at Carol’s at 7.30pm. Please contact us if you wish to attend. ** Please note change of venue. **

Shabbat 22nd February – We will be joining Oxford Synagogue for their Shabbat service which starts at 10.30am.

Shabbat 29th February – Shabbat morning service to commence at 10.00am at the Western Community Centre.

Shabbat 14th March – We will be joining Maidenhead Synagogue for their Shabbat service which starts at 10.30am.

Shabbat 28th March – Shabbat morning service to commence at 10.00am at the Western Community Centre.


Thursday 9th April – Seder meal and service at Zoe’s. Please contact Zoe before 29th March to confirm attendance and let her know what food you can bring. For those currently outside our membership please use the ‘contact us’ form.

Shabbat 11th April – We will be joining Oxford Synagogue for their Shabbat service which starts at 10.30am.

Monday 20th April – Yom HaShoah service at Carol’s at 8.00pm. Please contact us if you wish to attend.

Monday 27th April – Yom Ha’atzmaut thanksgiving service to commence at 8.00pm at the Western Community Centre.
